Heat Pump Or Furnace

November 3rd, 2007 by admin

If you were going to replace that old furnace would you go with a heat pump or another furnace? My experience with a heat pump, which is minimal at best, it never gets actually warm in your home with a pump. It seems that you always have to wear a sweater to get warm inside. With a furnace it gets warm as you need it but the efficiency is not as good with the furnace. I know you can get a heat pump with a gas backup or secondary heat source. What is truly cheaper Gas or Electricity? You need to find out what the power company charges for electricity and the gas company cost per therm. Do the math and go figure.
