Anniversary#34

Well tomorrow is the 34th anniversary that I have been married. We have been together for 36 years and never 1 time separated, sure we had some quarrels and spats over a few things but never anything so severe that we needed to be away from each other. 34 years of marriage is not a easy thing to accomplish in todays times, many of our friends and family said it wouldn’t last 6 months, but I guess we showed them.

I am at a time in my marriage that I am the happiest I have ever been and love my wife more than ever before. We are at the point of our lives that we are going to get to spend more time with each other and do a little traveling and get to see places we always wanted to go. We haven’t been blessed with grandchildren yet so we better do our traveling while we can, Cause if we do get grandchildren then there will be plenty of time spent with them to get to know the little tykes. We have so much love to offer a grand child or two or how ever many we get the privilege of having. I know another 34 years is not going to hardly possible so I will take what is left for our family and really love the time we do have. Sure there are things that I wish I could go back and change but that is impossible,I made mistakes and I as always have to learn the hard way.

So for 34 wonderful years of marriage I can honestly say the dog gone it We Made It. So for what ever time we have left together will be a blessing to be a part of. I look forward to the rest of our lives and cherish each and every moment that we get to have with all of our loved ones. We are blessed with two great kids and they are our lives, we done pretty good at raising them, but they are their own person now and they are great in my eyes. I thank my family for the wonderful years and the ones ahead to be had.

Don’t Ruin the Steak

There’s is nothing that taste better than a good Steak. I have seen so many people ruin a good steak and eat it as if it were the best thing they had ever tasted, which could be true for them because they are afraid to try a steak the way it should be Med Rare. I make the claim to be one of the Best Steak Grillers in the business. There are very few Steak houses that I will even eat at, for the simple reason they can’t cook a good steak. There a secret to a good steak and very few people will share that with other people.

The art of grilling a good steak is first you need a good Steak, prime if its affordable to you and if not then get choice. Pick out a steak that is well marbled, one that has a lot of little veins of fat running all through out the lean part of the cut, this is where the flavor comes from. Those little veins of fat will disappear once cooked. Get your grill as hot as it will get, and take your steak and tenderize with old method of piercing it with a fork all over, then take a good white wine and sprinkle it all over the steak,the take McCormicks seasoned meat tenderizer all over the steak until its coated well, on one side only. Best if done overnight but will work at any time.Put the steak on the hot grill with the un seasoned side down first.

Grill for about 5 min on one side then turn, allow 5 min for the other side and sit the steak to the side. If your steak is a inch thick let it sit off the flames for about 10 min.Remove and enjoy one the beat steaks you will ever put in your mouth.

Raking the leaves

I remember as a small child growing up running and jumping in those big piles of leaves that had just been raked and ready for the burn pile. My parents would get a little ill at us kids for scattering what they had just got done getting them up to burn. We would just laugh and jump and knowing trouble was ahead , we just didn’t care, we were having fun. Can you remember those days?

Metal Detectors

I need input on metal detectors what brand is a good one , how good do they really work. I am going to try to find some treasure and strike it rich HA HA. I am going to try to see what I can find on the Lake Allatoona since its down about 20 feet. I am sure I will find a lot of sinkers and hooks and cans, ie Junk, but you never know I might find something worthwhile. Please give feedback, Thanks

Gobble Gobble

Tomorrow is the day for giving thanks to the people we are thankful to have in our lives. It’s a day for celebrating the accomplishments we have achieved, and a day for putting on the pounds. The tables will be the meeting place for most of us. The food will be plentiful and good, and we usually make a gluten out of ourselves because there is so much to sample a little of all of the items we like best. There will be Turkey’s and Ham’s, dressing and stuffings, vegetables out the kazoo. The guy’s will be lifting their shirts and rubbing the belly to see if they can get the food to settle a little so they can get some relief from the over stuffing they indulged in.

Some families will be playing ball outside while others prefer to take a little nap, and some will watch the football games on the TV. The ladies will sit at the table after it is cleared enough to sit and talk about the effort that was put forth to make the event a success, and their husbands who helped very little if any at all. Life in America is a wonderful experience, and please don’t forget the Great Service Men and Women, that are over in other country’s trying to keep peace so we can enjoy this time together. I feel that our military personnel don’t get enough of our support, they would love to be where we are, with their families and partaking of a big meal. So when you say grace tomorrow, include the brave men and women and their families who miss them so much and worry their selves into a stressful state of panic at time. God Bless America, and everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Lost Leg

My buddy is getting out of the hospital right now as I am typing. Come to find out that his body had become septic and dang near lost the old boy. The doctors are saying that they got most of the bacteria infected leg but there was a little left and they were going to treat it with anti-biotic s and save as much as possible so they can fit him with a prosthesis. He still has his spirits up and i sure hope they stay that way. The holidays are coming up and thats a bad time for things to bad in one’s life. I told him that I wanted his leg because I was going to get a Ivory handle on it and he can have a walking stick that way, and it would be familiar with it already and there would be no getting used to it. Ha Ha!

Funerals

Today I attended my Grandfathers Funeral, he lived for 99 years, and he was a character. He had a sense of humor and always had something funny to talk about. I was very dis-appointed with the service today, the preachers that were doing his service really got to me. They didn’t talk about my Grandfather except in the very beginning, just a couple of words was it. Then it got off into old baptist preaching, it was more like an alter calling going on instead of a celebration of my Grandfathers life. I don’t know who made the decision on the preacher selection and their style but to me it was completely in-appropriate. I will not fault anyone for this but maybe it was just me. Whatever the case I knew my Grandfather well and he is with our maker and I will see him again.

Rhino or Rhino

Come on people i need input on the Yamaha Rhino, from what I can tell by the reviews on the net it is the Best UTV made out there. I know about the law suits and the roll over problems, but it seem to me just common sense, any piece of equipment has limitations, and if those are exceeded then you have risk involved. Cars and Trucks are the same, they have their limits. So if any body has anything to say either positive or negative please let me know before I spend money I know I can use elsewhere.

Monday Morning Blahs

It’s official, the Monday morning blahs do exist and I think I have them today. I feel like I am running on about 3 fouled spark plugs. I can tell it’s going to be one of those days. Probably nothing will go right, and it already started, I ordered some new shoes last week and they came, but neither pair fit correctly, back they go for replacement. Sittin’ on the porch ain’t got no shoes,
playing my guitar, singing the Blues. There’s 10,000. comedians out of work and I’m trying to be funny.

We Got Rain

Whew, I am so happy ,we finally got some rain in north Georgia. We are over 16 inches below normal for rain this year and we are in a emergency state of water shortage.By no means are we out of the woods on this crisis, but any rain we get is a blessing. I notice yesterday that the Etowah river that feed the lake Allatoona I saw something I have never seen before, I saw the bottom of the river as I was passing over a bridge. Water rationing could still become a reality, but let’s pray it won’t.

I need some Money Please!

I have been to many banks and borrowed money, and never had a problem until the last time. I have excellent credit and have been doing business with the same bank for 20 years. I went to get a secured loan, and after I had told the processor what I wanted, the personnel there didn’t know how to process it. This was a new branch that opened closer to my home. It took me almost 2 weeks to get this loan after they made many changes and mistakes on it. It would have taken 1 day at their home office. Banks are hiring incompetent people these days.

The next time I need some loans I will go to the home office of my bank. If personal loans are what I need then I will shop around and see what else is there for me. The way I see it my bank works for me. I think my branch office would loan money to anyone, if they can wait for their loan.

Designing Women

The season premier of Designing Women comes on the tube tonight. There is hear say that another couple will be moving to Wisteria Lane this season, as well as some lesbian action going on. I can’t wait to see the new season get started. The lady’s of Wisteria Lane are a force to be reckoned with and are funny as any thing that is going on the tube now. There’s always backstabbing, free lance sex and about anything you can imagine goes on with this series. It is truly an addictive show, as addictive as The Soprano’s which was a hit show that i could not miss. Burn Notice has got my attention now and it is a really good series. Oh well I have done my Siskel and Rupert report for today, see you at the screen.
