Rain, Rain, Rain

Well we are getting some badly needed rain in Georgia tonight, particularly in the North Georgia area. W are still in a drought and it may take a few years to correct its self. It’s only about 6 weeks till spring of the year. Thats my favorite season, everything is starting to come to life, the plants show new growth the animals bring in their offsprings and its just a feel good season all around. We need the rain so that the new spring will be a beautiful one.

See America

The right way by taking a tour of the city you are in and doing it right. I always seem to end up on the wrong side of town and it always makes my family a little nerved about being in the wrong part of town. I found out the right way to see the city attractions and stay in the right parts of town by taking a tour. At Trusted Tours and Attractions you can tour the city and find that the host are very knowledgeable about the the city’s history and the culture. I took a trolley tour of Savannah and the customer service that was there for me was incredible. This company goes the extra mile to see to it that you are taken care of. Some city’s have the Segeway scooters to let you tour with, and area attractions will be discounted if you book through them. You can save 20 percent if you book your tour online. and oh yeah< they have a promotion going on if you go online and sign up for their news letter, you could win a handheld GPS system. How Cool is that?
Learn a lot about the city you are in and relax and enjoy yourself and let Trusted Tours & Attractions take you through the city and educate you on its history and enjoy yourself. The sightseeing tours is the only way to go.

Are you ready to Tour

I’m not a super star of rock and roll asking you to go on tour with me, I am just an ordinary person that loves to go places I have never been and take in the local culture. I always end up in the wrong parts of town, and that can be a little unnerving.

To me Cajun means Lets eat. The next time you’re on a vacation, relax and enjoy the culture and let Trusted Tours and Attractions take care of your fears.

The Famous Route 66

I know its hard to follow Route 66 these days, with so many parts of the road in need of repairs or just not heavily traveled, but I would like to ride on it someday. I hear that you can find a lot of great shops and places to buy souvieners along the famous Route 66. This famous road is also called The Mother Road or the Main Street in America. Some people has even referred to it as the Will Rogers Highway. The road was open for travelers back in the 1920′s and it started in Chicago and ran across the country and ended in Los Angeles. If you started on Route 66 in Chicago and traveled to the very end of it in Los Angeles, you would be covering almost 2,500 miles of road, that would lead you through 8 states. Kansas and Texas make up less than 200 miles of the famous route 66, but you would get a good view of the other states if you were to take the entire journey.

The sad story behind Route 66 is the invention of the interstate. Route 66 isn’t a road that you can travel 70 MPH on like the interstates, so when the interstates started popping up, Route 66 became a less traveled road. Many of the businesses along the famous path have went out of business, but many efforts are going on today, to try and restore some of those businesses that are still standing today. Travelers today can still find some great shops along the way and there have also been museums and state parks created along the route for tourists to stop in and get a feel for the historic highway. There is always going to be a small part of Route 66 that runs through this country, I just hope I can get a chance to see it soon, as more and more of the famous highway is lost each year.

Alabama Bound

This morning I got up, and on the spur of the moment I decided to take a little trip to good old Alabama. There was no particular reason for going, I just loaded it up and went. I went through Centre ALA., on to Gadsen just looking around and those places have really changed over the last 25 years, but then again every where has changed in the last 25 years. I went down to Piedmont and through Cedartown Ga and came home. There was a lot of good looking farm land I passed by, and at one time I thought I might take up farming, with little afterthought I decline to not to take on that adventure. Whew I almost became a farmer today and I ain’t got no cows or horses!

Murrayville Ga

I went through a quaint little town today in North Georgia, Murrayville. It was just a spot in the road but the people in this little community trey were all out doing things that family’s do, kids in the yard playing, grown ups watching their kids , what looked like a community flea market, with tents pitched to cover their valuables. People were scurrying around and every one so friendly. Good old country folk, the best kind in the world. i believe if your barn burnt, there would automatically be a barn raising. all the folk would come on a weekend and rebuild that barn out of the goodness of their heat and not expect a dime in return. These great little community’s are disappearing at break neck speeds. If we would slow down, love thy neighbor, take the time to enjoy life, we would be better as a nation and as a people that are proud to be inhabiting this great planet we have, and not destroy her resources like the idiots we have become and too blind to see it.

Escape for the Holidays

Taking a trip for the Holidays is getting more popular with each year passing. You can stay in a cramped up hotel room if you wish, but there is a better alternative, rent a home or a condo and have the luxury of a home. With a vacation rentals, you will have the room and the privacy you need to have a good vacation. I have personally used this service this year and went to Seabrook Island, South Carolina. We had a great time and the home was great. There’s no hooting and hollering like you get at hotels and motels, just peace and relaxation with VLBO. Take a break from the old norm and enjoy the holidays without all the hustle and bustle .

I’m going to Disneyland

Disney land is great this time of year, but where will you stay? My experience says that Orlando vacations are the best way to visit. The fall packages are now available and savings on your stay is the is obvious. Just go to the site and see the savings that have been created for you and your family, so you can enjoy yourself and not have to break the bank to do so. Pack those bags and tell every one that you’re going to Disneyland. Micky and goofy and company are awaiting your arrival.

Mini-bike Fun

There’s a new breed of mini-bikes these days, they have a gear reduction system on them and balloon tires which make it drive a little un-predictable. It’s not like a motorcycle, and it’s not like an old mini bike of the old days. The things have shocks on the front, but none on the rear, the balloon tire is supposed to give the impact of a shock, which it does to some small extent. The thing I like the most about the little machines is that the have climbing power and don’t run very fast. They are great for trail riding and a lot of fun can be had on these things, but always make safety your priority number 1.

Sea Brook Island S.C.

What a beautiful place to vacation. I know, I have just returned from there. I booked through VLBO and our vacation was great. We stayed in a beautiful home that slept 6 and the home was magnificent. At our back door there was a marsh that was just off the ocean and we had live alligators and all kind of other hidden critters in the water. You can’t get this in a motel or a hotel. If you are going to go on a vacation, then I highly recommend vacation rentals it is a experience that you will never forget. I don’t think I will ever stay in another motel for vacation. It was no hassle, our name was left at the gate and the guards were very polite in assisting us as where to go and the hot spots to visit. The guest before us left all kind of notes and coupons as to the best places to eat and discounts on the meals. It was a great time and we have 2 Jack Russel dogs that went along. They really loved going to the beach and trying to catch the sea gull and the heron. It will be vacation rentals from now on when I travel to have some good old R&R. Check out where we stayed,

Motorcycle Stupidity

I was on my way home from a trip to Charleston,S.C traveling on I-20 west when two guys on motorcycles were passing me. As they got right beside me, the guy closest to me, geared down and done a wheelie right beside me and continued to pass at 80 mph. I was in dis-belief that a fool would do a wheelie that fast and wearing no helmet. After he passed me he went to pass another car, he stood up on his bike and had one foot on the tail end and done another wheelie. I just knew that some crack head was about to meet his maker, all it would have took at that speed is a little cross wind and it would have been bad. he passed every car in that manner until he was out of my sight. I just knew this guy had a death wish. I never did see any more of him after he was out of sight. I am so glad I didn’t see him scattered all over the expressway.
