American Gangster
The movie American Gangster with Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington is a fair movie at it’s best, the plot for the movie is that Denzel is the Drug lord and Crowe is the cop. The dope connection is in Bangkok and he is shipping the purest form of Heroine in and selling it pure and at a reduced price. It’s killing people left and right and Crowe is out to put a stop to Washington but hes after the wrong guy. He’s suspect of the Italian Mafia but they are not the ones he’s after. There had never been a Negro with so much power in the Bronx as Washington had. He was using the military to transport his drugs for him and in a way you would’nt imagine. It’ s a ok to see but not a must see.

King Diamond
I got the new King Diamond album a couple of months ago. It is sweet, though not as sweet as the older material. I think that he’s fallen in love with Livia Zita. She has been on two albums now, “The Puppet Master” and “Give me your soul…please”, which is the new album. For some reason, he doesn’t have the same intensity as he used to. I have a copy of him with a band called “Probot”, and I think that the vocals on the song “Sweet Dreams” were among the best that he has ever done. That song contains almost everything that a King Diamond fan loves him for. It is chock full of the highs and lows that give him that signature sound. Even in the days of “Mercyful Fate” King’s voice has proven to be among the most powerful in the business, rivaled only by the likes of Ronnie James Dio and Mike Howe of “Metal Church”and “Heretic”. The last album though, did not have the same insanely dark characteristics. The story of the album too, is lacking. A lot of the plot points don’t make a lot of sense. Since the first solo album, King has been making “concept” albums. All the songs tell a complete story all the way through. “The Graveyard” is among the very best. The story there is good enough for a summer horror blockbuster. I hope that King gets his groove back for the next project. I would hate to see him go the way of “Metallica”. That would be a true shame.

Dark Towers Comic Books
The final issue is finally out. Stephen King’s “The Gunslinger Born” from Marvel comics wrapped up it’s seventh issue which concludes the “Dark Tower” comic series. The comic is adapted from the seven novels by the best-selling author. I have read all seven more than once and the comics stay true to the books. Peter David does a great job in telling the story and has captured “the low speech” quite well. In the first issue it showed a few notes from Stephen King on how best to capture this alternate way of speech. The illustrations by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove are beautiful. It’s good to finally see the face of some of my favorite characters. Roland of Gilead definitely looks different than I imagined him. In the books he is described as looking a bit like Clint Eastwood, but that is when he is an older man. The comics tell the story of his younger trials where he becomes a gunslinger, which is kind of like a knight in a world that has “moved on”. There are also side stories that weren’t in the books that are very interesting. One is the origins of “Charyou tree”, which tells of the burning sacrifices of townspeople in order to bring in a good harvest. Another is a tale of “Maerlin’s Mirror”, which is about an ancient mirror that gets broken and the shards fly throughout the worlds, bringing magic to those who come in contact with them. The comic is set in the time that is most touched upon in “Wizard and Glass”, the fourth in the “Dark Tower” novels. I must say that as soon as I finished the last issue, there was a satisfied smile on my face, not only because the story was great, but also because on the last page it tells of a new five part series, also from the “Dark Tower”, called “The Long Road Home”, that comes out in February 2008. I can’t wait.

Lottery winnings
I have finally figured it out that with the odds of winning the lottery, I can never buy enough tickets in my lifetime to win. The odds are so astronomical that its not even feasible for me to play. Luck is all you can say for the lottery, if you play enough you will get lucky from time to time, and never hit the jackpot. Luck is a strange thing, I know people who have had good luck all their lives and I know people like me who couldn’t buy luck if it were sold. I guess I will never win the Lottery but if I don’t play I will never get Lucky!

The series Burn Notice
I’ve been watching “Burn Notice” and I love it. I started watching and I’m already addicted. The main character is Michael Westen, played by Jeffrey Donovan, is a spy who gets burned, meaning fired, by his employers the U.S. government. He gets dumped in Miami where his mother, best friend, and girlfriend live. Sam, played by Bruce Campbell of “Evil Dead” fame, is the alcoholic, ex-spy best friend who still has connections in the espionage underworld. He drinks like a fish, but still gets the job done. Michael is trying to find out who burned him, and I think that Sam is going to play a big part in helping him get the information that he needs. Michael’s girlfriend Fiona, played by Gabrielle Anwar, is an ex-IRA soldier who loves to break out the guns as much as possible. She is constantly kicking somebody’s butt, often it is Michael’s. Sharon Gless of “Cagney and Lacey” plays Michael’s mother, who is always getting into his business and love life. Michael is pretty much broke since getting burned left him with no bank account, or job references. Now he has to do freelance jobs using his spy background. Each episode he shows how to manipulate people, tricks of the trade, and he gets a little closer to finding out who burned him. This is one show that I’m going to have to see through to the very end.

2.5 Men
Two and a half men is a comedy with Charlie Sheen, he is a jingles writer and his brother and nephew live with him. This is a great comedy and the nephew and his dad still the show most of the time. They have a housekeeper that is a wisecrack just waiting to happen. Charlie’s brother is Chiropractor and a little on the feminine side. The kid really gets a lot of bad advice from his uncle, and the housekeeper. This poor kid is all messed up by listening to those two crack pots. I don’t know if he will ever make it through puberty or not, If he does that will be one screwed up kid.

The Mist
The Mist by Stephen King will be released in theaters on November 21,2007 I read this book several years ago and it is truly Stephen King, the Master of Suspense. The Mist reminds me of a time when I had traveled to New Orleans and I was on my way back home. I was going along the coast when in Gulf Port Mississippi the rain was coming down so hard that you could not see to drive , so we pulled into a Grocery Store and several people before and after us did the same it was some of the hardest rain I had ever seen. People inside were waving everybody to come into the store, and we didn’t know why. They started pointing out to the gulf and we seen why they wanted us inside.
There was a water spout out in the gulf that was at least 150 feet tall and it was headed straight for us. We ran into the store and the manager told everyone to go to the rear of the store. In about 2 minuets that thing came to shore and knocked every glass in front of the store out. People were screaming and going crazy, not to say that we were calm or anything, but some of the people went berserk. The Mist that was lingering after the storm sure did remind me of The Mist by Stephen King. Was the real danger in The Mist or was it inside the Store?

My Dogs and the Rhino
My Jack Russell Terriers love to ride in my Rhino. My Oldest one Phoebe, she is the real hunter of the two, when she is in the Rhino, she has that nose out and sniffing everything in the woods. I stopped down by the lake the other day and she got on the scent of something and I had to go find her in the Rhino she had went a pretty good ways trying to find what ever the scent was she had been on.I honestly think that she thinks the Rhino is her way for a shortcut to the woods to hunt and I am just the driver. But I will admit that I get as much enjoyment watching her ride in the Rhino as I do driving it.

Clothes Labels
We bought my sister-in-law a Smock looking thing at Wal-Mart one year, after about 2 months after we gave it to her she called and wanted to know where we got the jacket from. I told her where it came from, then she asked well where did you get that label at that was in the jacket. I did not know what she was talking about. So she read it to me: Washing instructions, For best results, hand wash warm water hang on line and let dry. For not so good results, Hand wash in mudhole, tie to line and drag behind station wagon till dry. I had to drive over there to see for myself and sure enough it was just as she said. I now look at all Wal-Mart labels. True story!

Halloween Fun
Trick or Treat, has been great since I was just a child. We use to get our bags full of candy and fruits in no time at all, we would start on one end of the neighbor hood and work all the way to the other end and have a ball doing it. I have been everything from an Apple to Zorro it seems like. I have also been shot at from some old lady that didn’t want their windows soaped with writings of gore. There have been a many of pranks pulled on people at Halloween, some of them would be quite cruel and dis respectful. But our little gang always had some good clean fun that did not hurt any one. I guess the worst we done was Rolling a friend or an enemy’s house with toilet paper. Sure it made a mess but the first good rain would take care of that, or even a good watering from the water hose. The costumes today are so much more realistic than when I was a kid, but it’s fun just the same.

New tv’s
I just bought a new flat screen LCD TV to go in the den, and I am definitely glad that we made that purchase. The picture quality is so vibrant and alive, I have a Sony Wega 36 inch I have had for about 6 years and it still shows a great picture, especially with a DVD and the 5.1 surround sound. I can watch the Rolling Stones and it’s like I am sitting there on the front row of the concert. The new TV wont be watched much, but when i go to replace my Sony, you can bet that it will be theater like surroundings. Popcorn and all. I will probably get the 7.1 system and have the room ready for Mick and the Boys to come on in the house and Jam on out. You just got to love todays technology!

Dumbledore
Well here’s the story about Albus Dumbledore of Harry Potter fame as reported being Gay.
JK Rowling says Dumbledore’s gay
Dumbledore and Harry Potter on the cover of The Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed a big secret about Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore’s past – he was in love with another wizard.
During her American book tour JK was asked if Dumbledore found true love.
Fans at New York’s Carnegie Hall were initially stunned into silence by the announcement, but soon started clapping and cheering.
JK said: “I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy.”
The news should help to clear up lots of rumours about Dumbledore’s mysterious past once and for all.
“Dumbledore is gay,” she replied, before adding that he’d fallen in love with his rival Gellert Grindelwald.
But she said Dumbledore was “terribly let down” when Grindelwald became more interested in the dark arts than good, and so he went on to destroy him.
