Well my Rhino did not come with a gas gauge and today I will try the magical feat of installing one myself. I figure 1 of 3 things might happen, 1st, I get it right, 2nd, I get it wrong, 3rd, I screw up my gas tank and have to buy a new one. I sure hope its the 1st one. but I have confidence that I will succeed. The part I dread is drilling a hole in my gas tank to install the sending unit and getting it adjusted right. The instructions are quite complete, but you never know what may go wrong. If all goes right then I won’t have to worry about how much gas I have anymore. If i blow myself up then thats a worry that i won’t have any way.
Wish me luck in this endeavor so that I may get to enjoy the Rhino a little better. I honestly think that thing would climb a telephone pole if it wouldn’t flip over on you. The Little Sherman Tank is on the prowl. Look out nature here I come!

My Jack Russell Terriers love to ride in my Rhino. My Oldest one Phoebe, she is the real hunter of the two, when she is in the Rhino, she has that nose out and sniffing everything in the woods. I stopped down by the lake the other day and she got on the scent of something and I had to go find her in the Rhino she had went a pretty good ways trying to find what ever the scent was she had been on.I honestly think that she thinks the Rhino is her way for a shortcut to the woods to hunt and I am just the driver. But I will admit that I get as much enjoyment watching her ride in the Rhino as I do driving it.

I bought a Half Gallon of Apple Brandy a few weeks back that was homemade from the North Carolina Mountains, and gave it to my best friend, who usually drinks crown and coke. I went to see him about a week later and he had been drinking a little of the Brandy, he liked it so much he wanted me to get him a couple of more jugs of the stuff. So i had to try a sip and dogonit it was the best I had ever had, It was smooth as silk and had no after burn at all. I could not believe that it was that smooth. I have had Brandy that was smooth but would burn in a few seconds after it hit the stomach.I guess next time I will take a sip to see how good it is and I may just have to keep some for myself.

We bought my sister-in-law a Smock looking thing at Wal-Mart one year, after about 2 months after we gave it to her she called and wanted to know where we got the jacket from. I told her where it came from, then she asked well where did you get that label at that was in the jacket. I did not know what she was talking about. So she read it to me: Washing instructions, For best results, hand wash warm water hang on line and let dry. For not so good results, Hand wash in mudhole, tie to line and drag behind station wagon till dry. I had to drive over there to see for myself and sure enough it was just as she said. I now look at all Wal-Mart labels. True story!

I lost my Grandfather this evening at about 8:35 PM He had lived for 99 years 2 months 22 days. A full life he lived, he helped raise 8 children. He was a big man with hands the size of a giant it seemed to me. Everyone says that I am just like him hands and all. There are times that I have fussed about my big hands and times they have come in handy. His sense of humor was non stop, he always had some kind of wise crack about something. There are many grand children that will miss him dearly, I was second to the oldest so I got to enjoy him more than the most of them did.
I can remember going to the farmers market with him and he would buy produce and drive back home and set up on side of the road and sell produce to help make money for the family. He was a man who loved Wrestling on the TV on Friday and Saturday night. Wrestling was the real thing to him. there would be no noise or shenanigans going on when His Wrestling was on. When I got to be about 9 years old he would take me to the Wrestling Matches.
I can remember going to the Larry Bell Auditorium in Marietta many times, every now and then we would go to Atlanta to see the Matches, The name of the place Eludes me at this time , but we always had a good time. One time we went to The Atlanta Motor Speedway for a match between Dick the Bruiser and Sputnik Monroe. Well ole Sputnik won that match and won a new Cadillac and as he was driving it around the speed way ,Dick went to chasing him in his Cadillac, It was all for show but when I was little I was impressed. The promoters of Wrestling would do anything to bring in the crowd, which made them a living.
Wrestling I haven’t watched in many a years now, Its been so long I dont even know who the last champion was when I stopped watching. That part of my life will never be missed but being with my Grandfather I will miss dearly. Thank you Grandfather for the wonderful times and all that you taught me about being a man.

Today my computer went crazy and locked up and it took me almost 7 hours to get the thing up and running again. I hat when these things act crazy like that. It makes me want to get a Big Hammer to it and conquer the beast. But I come to my senses and decide to try one more time and I finally got it to working. Its always something in life that gets to you.

St. Augustine Florida is the oldest city in America. It’s a beautiful town with cobble stone streets in some areas, and restaurants that will tickle every taste bud you have. Shopping is great, there are specialty stores and antiques for the most discerning shopper. The Fountain of Youth is a must see, and the tour through the square is informing. The southern hospitality is original as the the day is long. You owe it to yourself to see our grand city and all its glory.

My daughter has severe migraines and they are for a most part debilitating to her. I don’t know how she does it, but she is a teacher, and I can only try to imagine what it’s like to have a headache so severe and having to put up with students at the same time would drive me insane. I have only had a couple of migraine headaches in my life and I could not function at all with them .Maybe one day there will be a cure for those millions that suffer from this terrible condition.

I love that series with Norm Abrahms, this guy is after my own heart. This guy know about woodworking. He takes his time and makes sure everything is right when he starts a project. I love woodworking and have made a few pretty pieces my self but I am no Norm Abrahms. He makes everything he does look so effortless and natural, I am always struggling and messing thing up. I have learned a lot from my mistakes and I am sure Norm has from his as well. Plus his shop is for woodworking only and mine is piled with everything and room for woodwork is a thing of the past. It’s my own fault and it will never be a workshop again unless I build another building or two for all the different tools and projects that I love to do.

I just bought a new flat screen LCD TV to go in the den, and I am definitely glad that we made that purchase. The picture quality is so vibrant and alive, I have a Sony Wega 36 inch I have had for about 6 years and it still shows a great picture, especially with a DVD and the 5.1 surround sound. I can watch the Rolling Stones and it’s like I am sitting there on the front row of the concert. The new TV wont be watched much, but when i go to replace my Sony, you can bet that it will be theater like surroundings. Popcorn and all. I will probably get the 7.1 system and have the room ready for Mick and the Boys to come on in the house and Jam on out. You just got to love todays technology!

It rained all day today the first time in months since I have seen that, we are supposed to get it for a couple of more days. We need it bad to help with the drought that we are in. I know you people get tired of me talking about the rain we need so bad, but it scares the crap out of me knowing that rationing may be a possibility. I sure would hate to see that happen. I know the the old guys before didn’t even have running water and they made it, and I guess we will to if it comes to reality.

I was checking out the Kubota R T V’s today, and let me tell you they have made some changes since their introduction. They now have a 4Wd with a steel enclosed cabin with air, heater and Am/Fm CD player. It has a 24.8 hp diesel engine 3cyl. that I believe to be probably the best one in production, this thing weighs 2365 lbs or something close to that. This thing is built to last. It has quick connect hydraulic lines on the back of it and you can connect extra stuff like chain saws, jack hammers, hole diggers, post setters, and a host of other hydraulic attachments. It also carries a price of $15,000.00. I got them down to 14.3 and that was as low as they would go I offered 13.5 but no bite. Oh well Maybe they will call for me to come pick it up in the next day or two.

Its raining this morning and it is desperately needed, the weather man says we might have for the next 3 days. I sure hope hes right and it rains a good slow steady rain, but I will take what the man upstairs has to offer. I remember about 20 years ago , we had a lot of rain for like 2 weeks and I was talking to an older gentleman, and I asked him: Do you think we have had enough rain, he replied, I reckon not, because if we had God wouldn’t still be sending it to us. I said, okay makes sense to me. Let it Rain, Rain, Rain!

I have a little Jack Russell female dog who can talk. When she wants to get your attention she changes from barking to moaning like shes in pain and some times the makes noise like words are coming out of her mouth. One day I was driving down the road and she was acting up because she had to pee. I have become very familiar with this sign that she has to go, any way we were going down the road and she was acting up and it sounded just like she said mama. I looked over at her and said what did you say and she said mama again. I guess I will have to go see the shrink now.

There’s a new breed of mini-bikes these days, they have a gear reduction system on them and balloon tires which make it drive a little un-predictable. It’s not like a motorcycle, and it’s not like an old mini bike of the old days. The things have shocks on the front, but none on the rear, the balloon tire is supposed to give the impact of a shock, which it does to some small extent. The thing I like the most about the little machines is that the have climbing power and don’t run very fast. They are great for trail riding and a lot of fun can be had on these things, but always make safety your priority number 1.

We got a little more rain this morning and the forecasters says that maybe by Tuesday we would get some more, I surely hope this is true and we get at least a couple of inches to help out with the water table a little. I am really worried that we will run out of water and be placed on a rationing system, I am doing my part to help with the conservation of our water supply. Maybe the sky’s will open up and deliver the badly needed water.

Yeah know that is a Eric Clapton song that is great, but I am talking about literally. We need rain in Cherokee County Georgia, desperately. Our water supply is down over 16 feet, the worst since 1920, and the Etowah River that feed our lake is flowing at a declined rate breaking the older 1902 record. We are in serious trouble here folks, if we don’t get some rain, water rationing may become a reality for our area. If the Corps Of Engineers don’t stop letting so much water out, we will be out of water in January or February. Right now I am even in favor of a Old Indian Rain Dance, a hurricane , or a tornado to bring in some water, as long as the damage is to a minimum and no one gets hurt. It’ pretty bad when you have to wish for one disaster to replace another.

I have lived in this Georgia city all my life, and the water situation is becoming severe and if things don’t get better the reality of water rationing may fall into play. I live near Lake Allatoona and it is so low that if something doesn’t change it will be a dry lake by February. This lake is managed by The Corps Of Engineers, and it releases millions of gallons of water daily as a contract for generating electricity. This has to be cut back, but the state of Alabama also gets water from Allatoona and when it was mentioned that cutbacks on the water released daily need to take place, Alabama raised stink demanding they were to get so many hundreds of thousands of gallons daily. They don’t have enough sense to realize they better settle for what they get because no one will have any if things don’t change. I have lived here for 54 years and I have never seen it this bad, I pray that we get some badly needed rain in generous amounts to remedy the problem.
Our problem is so serious that it made National Headlines on the news, we are just a small mostly Agricultural county. There are 4 county’s that rely on Allatoona for water supply, Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, and Fulton, which is the county seat of our Capital city, Atlanta. Building has been running rampant for the last 10 years and our politicians are so stupid they can’t see the infrastructure cannot handle the load they have let it be over burdened with all the out of control building. The illegal immigrants that have covered our county are not helping the problem in any way, they earn money here, and send most of it back to their home land. They will rent a house and there will be 15 living in one house so their cost of living here is minimal. We the American people had better open our damn eyes and make some changes and make them fast or we will all suffer in this crisis we are in.

I purchase a kit of the Mystic paint, you know the one where you see a car going down the road and it starts changing colors at different angles when the sun hits it. Nascar superstar Jeff Gordon has been running this paint on his #24 car for several years now. When it was first developed when you bought the paint to paint a car with, a representative from the company would come to the paint shop and give the painter the first coat to spay with, if any was left over the rep would put it in a can and then give the painter the second coat. Same as the first ,any left over the rep put it away and gave the painter the 3rd coat, and like the two before he would put it in a can and take it all with him back to the factory.
It has been told that a 14 year old boy developed this particular paint and Dupont bought the license rights and the patent. Did you know that some of the auto paint today has crushed glass in it. All different kind of effects are going on in the auto paint industry today. The paint job i did on the Go-Kart today turned out fabulous, my nephew and niece will be surprised when the see it and take it for a spin around the block My kit turns from Brown to Green to Blue, and it Rocks!!
