Ode to Dog

February 14th, 2008 by admin

He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea.

He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being, by the way he rests against my leg, by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile, by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.)

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful.

He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me… whenever… wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have.

He is my dog.

January 30th, 2008 by admin

Well we are getting some badly needed rain in Georgia tonight, particularly in the North Georgia area. W are still in a drought and it may take a few years to correct its self. It’s only about 6 weeks till spring of the year. Thats my favorite season, everything is starting to come to life, the plants show new growth the animals bring in their offsprings and its just a feel good season all around. We need the rain so that the new spring will be a beautiful one.

Doing it Right

January 25th, 2008 by admin

You’ve heard the old saying, any thing worth doing is worth doing right. Well I have some guys working in my garage today , they are finishing the inside that I did not do when I built it, and I have to admit it, the guy’s are doing a pretty jam up job, sure its going to cost me more than anticipated but I think that it will be worth the satisfaction that will be enjoyed later on. After I throw away a bunch of junk I will be able to put down a epoxy floor coating this spring and the garage will be complete then. I can’t wait!!

Quitting smoking

January 24th, 2008 by admin

Well heres the up date,I have almost quit smoking. I have been taking Chantrix for 3 weeks and I was smoking 2 packs a day and now I have had 3 cigarettes in 2 days. I think I will actually do it this time, I hate those stinking cigarettes and the they are starting to taste like fidos ass. I have been a smoker for over 40 years and I tell you that this is the hardest thing I haver ever tried to do. If I thought I could find a lawyer that would sue the industry and actually persue it instead of selling out to them I would sue the hell out of the tobacco industry and the government too for allowing this crap to be grown and sold in America. Have you lost your bloggin mind

January 23rd, 2008 by admin

Sometimes you run in to a stall period when you just don’t think you have any worthy topics to write about, it’s like you have run into a wall and there you are. Writers block or whatever you want to call it seems to take a hold on your mind and all thoughts that you thought were rational become stale and un exciting, then you fall into the slump where you just can’t bring yourself to do it one more time. If this has happened to you then You have lost your bloggin Mind! LOL

Let It Snow

January 17th, 2008 by admin

Our weather forecasters are calling for some severe weather for tomorrow night maybe a little precipitation in the form of light snow or sleet. I would like to see about 5 in. of good snow to help our water table. It would be fun to get out on the rhino and enjoy the snow.

Crazy Weather

January 12th, 2008 by admin

If you want to have the experience of Crazy Weather then you need to be in Georgia. It’s almost mid January and the temp today is going to be in the mid 60’s. Two weeks ago it was a high of about 36 A couple of days prior to that it didn’t get above 32. Is that crazy weather or what. Today is my B day and I was invited to breakfast with my daughter and I t was really good. I enjoyed the meal and the company. It seems to me that the older you get the more you appreciate the small things in life so much more. Between the crazy weather and another year older, I hope to fare all things that come.

Fact or fiction, if you do your research, you will find out that that this has been taking place for a long time. Do you think that some nations believe in the concept of breeding a perfect population to rule the world. A world without sickness, a world that is far superior to any race now in existence. Do your won research and see what decision you come up with. Fact or Fiction!

Giving is Cool

December 24th, 2007 by admin

This year I had the pleasure of helping a lady out with a family to insure them of a worthy Christmas. I contacted people at The Salvation Army and got the ball rolling. The Salvation Army is truly one of the most caring and giving organizations I know of. So please give generously to them so the can continue to be the great organization that they are. We provided clothing and toys for a family of four that are in need of a break in life. The kids were ages 2-18 and everyone of them will have a wonderful holiday. I did wind up buying a little stuff and thats alright with me If it had took 500 dollars that would have been fine too. But the true hero’s in the story is the children, because they will know that somebody out there cares. I cant wait till next year.

Christmas Dinner

December 21st, 2007 by admin

I love the Christmas dinner we have when all the family gets together and has some good ole fellowship and good eating. Everybody is always happy and smiling and living in the spirit of the holidays. I know that a lot of people don’t care for the holidays much because they say it brings too much sadness, how can you be sad at a time like this, I guess I just don’t understand it. I know people lose loved ones and would like for them to be there for Christmas, but I think those loved ones they lost would want them to get together and be a happy family. Merry Christmas every one!!!

Yee Haw Christmas

December 15th, 2007 by admin

If you like the cowboy way and a Yee Haw Christmas, then why not go all out and decorate your tree with cowboy ornaments and show your true western spirit. The way of the west, the trail boss, the trail blazer or the cowpoke. It doesn’t matter what spirit of the old west you prefer, you can say it with your tree. Show your pride in the forefathers of our country who are historic in the molding the country we are all so proud of. Get ready for the festivities and gather round the chuck wagon, and relive the the days of yesteryear, and tell the stories of our heritage.

It’s Raining in Georgia

December 15th, 2007 by admin

Whoe is me, I walked outside this afternoon and there was a strange thing going on, there was water falling from the sky after contemplation’s, this must be what is known as Rain. It’s in the history books and the bible I know because I recall reading about this Phenomenon. Okay maybe I dramatized it a bit, but we have been so desperate for rain here in Georgia that its a serious situation. We are right at the driest year ever recorded that was back in 1954, and if things don’t get better the new record will be 2007. I am not one to question what plan God has for this dry spell but we don’t need another 40 days and 40 nights of rain either. Only he has the answer so I will take it in stride and not doubt his decisions.

Alabama Bound

November 25th, 2007 by admin

This morning I got up, and on the spur of the moment I decided to take a little trip to good old Alabama. There was no particular reason for going, I just loaded it up and went. I went through Centre ALA., on to Gadsen just looking around and those places have really changed over the last 25 years, but then again every where has changed in the last 25 years. I went down to Piedmont and through Cedartown Ga and came home. There was a lot of good looking farm land I passed by, and at one time I thought I might take up farming, with little afterthought I decline to not to take on that adventure. Whew I almost became a farmer today and I ain’t got no cows or horses!

Thanksgiving Dinner

November 23rd, 2007 by admin

Thanksgiving dinner was a success at our home this year, we had the Deep Fried Turkey, Honey Baked Ham, Dressing, all kind of soufflé’s and desserts that were sinful to eat they were so good. All of the family members and friends were well behaved, and pleasant to be around. I got a e-mail from an old friend today and was excited to hear from her, we had not talked to or seen each other in a couple of years now. She is a good ole gal and a strong willed lady, I have seen her go through some adverse situations in her life and come out ok in the end. If anyone deserves all the good things that life has to offer then she should be the recipient of those good things. Good people like her are a dying breed, and you know who you are when you read this.

Gas Gauge

November 8th, 2007 by admin

Well my Rhino did not come with a gas gauge and today I will try the magical feat of installing one myself. I figure 1 of 3 things might happen, 1st, I get it right, 2nd, I get it wrong, 3rd, I screw up my gas tank and have to buy a new one. I sure hope its the 1st one. but I have confidence that I will succeed. The part I dread is drilling a hole in my gas tank to install the sending unit and getting it adjusted right. The instructions are quite complete, but you never know what may go wrong. If all goes right then I won’t have to worry about how much gas I have anymore. If i blow myself up then thats a worry that i won’t have any way.

Wish me luck in this endeavor so that I may get to enjoy the Rhino a little better. I honestly think that thing would climb a telephone pole if it wouldn’t flip over on you. The Little Sherman Tank is on the prowl. Look out nature here I come!
