Remodeling Woes

I just bought another property to add to my tax liabilities, even though I did give a bargain price for it, the renovations are going to cost less than I expected, which is good. However when you start remodeling a house, you never know the full extent of the job until you get in there with the disassemblers to see all the underlying problems you face. his place had not been maintained for several years as it seems.

Project1 wrecking crew on the bathrooms. One bathroom had not been used in several years it seemed and the floor was weak with water damage, the joist and the bands had to be replaced and the mess was large. I had never seen such an attempt to repair a floor in all my life. They had put good plywood over a weak floor and did nothing to fix the real problem beforehand. Now its fixed correctly and with all pressure treated woods so there will never be and water damage to replace ever.

Bathroom 2 the same story but it was somewhat usable or at least the previous owner was using it. Hell I was scared to go in it. The same story putting good wood on top of bad and hoping it worked. What a Joke. So I am gonna put in 2 new bathrooms and a Kitchen and do some other touch up work on the interior and rent that baby out and make it pay me back. The job is almost half done and I am eagerly awaiting to see it after I finish. I figure it will pay for itself in about 5 years so Its basically like free property once the smoke clears

When remodeling yourself and not hiring a contractor, figure the price double of what you think and you will be close to having it finished. because you never know whats lying underneath the problems.

Dogs in Yard

I got a sign letting people know that I have Dogs in My Yard. Any Dog owner should have their property posted with beware of dog signs Posted on the property, it doe not matter if they are sweet little Darlings like my Jack Russel’s or a vicious animal. The Original Pet Postings sign have great signs, and guess what? Your dog has credit with them. Order your sign and they will promptly send it to you and your dog, all they ask is that you promptly send the payment for the sign. The sign comes with the needed hardware for either a wood fence or a metal fence. Look at my Colbalt Blue dog sign .They also come in chocolate brown and grass green. These signs are made from quality and they will last for many years to come.

Old Friend

Today I saw an old friend of mine and he like myself has failing health, but we agree that we are still on this side of the ground and not below it like so many other friends we have had. He has had many surgeries on his leg and the Dr’s want to take it off, but he like my self is hard headed and won’t change. His health would improve with the leg removal, but he says it’s going to his grave with him. I am afraid that is where he is headed before his time if he don’t loose the leg. I know that’s a hard one to let go of but what can a friend do?

Schools Out Forever

Well school is not out yet, but for some of the students, they wont be returning to high school, they will be going to college and trying to decide what they want in life and the courses they need to achieve it. So when it comes time to graduate you want your family and friends to know that you think they are special to you, one way to insure that is to get your graduation announcements from a reputable company that print the quality you expect for this special occasion.

After college you will be ready do get your business cards and you will think, I wonder where to get them, remember you grad announcement and the fine job that Vistaprint did for you on those. Well they make great business cards also. As a matter of fact they are a full service printing company with state of the art equipment. Their pricing is very competitive and the service is fast. I know this from past experience with this company. I have used their printing service a couple of time and when I need a printing service again, it will be Vistaprinting.com

Alvin,Simon,and Theodore

Yeah you baby boomer’s know who these characters are, they were the the little animated chipmunks that came on Saturday morning, The cartoon was always a must see, just to see how much trouble Alvin could get in to. Well it seems as if they are living in my side yard and have a condominium set up, they sure are some busy little creatures, and destructive too.

I had planted some perennial bulbs to have flowers to come back each year, well it seems that the little rascals like them more than we do, because they have dug everyone of them up and stored them for hard times. I hate to do it but it looks like that I will have to turn our Jack Russell dogs out on the little vermin. So there will be no more ALVIN, around here! HaHA!!!

Were Moving

The job of moving and getting everything packed and ready to go can be quite the ordeal, you accumulate so much stuff over the years, and the decision has to be made as what to keep what to try and sell at your moving sale and what to throw away. Packing your stuff in cardboard boxes is the tradition. You can get boxes made for your things and they have custom boxes they will make for you and the pricing is reasonable. Now.com has hundreds of boxes in stock and ready, they have a specialty line of boxes too. They even have wine boxes to transport your wine safely. Don’t make a move without Now.com boxes.
