Murrayville Ga

I went through a quaint little town today in North Georgia, Murrayville. It was just a spot in the road but the people in this little community trey were all out doing things that family’s do, kids in the yard playing, grown ups watching their kids , what looked like a community flea market, with tents pitched to cover their valuables. People were scurrying around and every one so friendly. Good old country folk, the best kind in the world. i believe if your barn burnt, there would automatically be a barn raising. all the folk would come on a weekend and rebuild that barn out of the goodness of their heat and not expect a dime in return. These great little community’s are disappearing at break neck speeds. If we would slow down, love thy neighbor, take the time to enjoy life, we would be better as a nation and as a people that are proud to be inhabiting this great planet we have, and not destroy her resources like the idiots we have become and too blind to see it.

2.5 Men

Two and a half men is a comedy with Charlie Sheen, he is a jingles writer and his brother and nephew live with him. This is a great comedy and the nephew and his dad still the show most of the time. They have a housekeeper that is a wisecrack just waiting to happen. Charlie’s brother is Chiropractor and a little on the feminine side. The kid really gets a lot of bad advice from his uncle, and the housekeeper. This poor kid is all messed up by listening to those two crack pots. I don’t know if he will ever make it through puberty or not, If he does that will be one screwed up kid.

Workers Comp Woes

I wound up with a fair Msa, but the monies coming to me was pitiful, and the stupid work comp board approved it. I cant believe I let my self get so screwed.

The Mist

The Mist by Stephen King will be released in theaters on November 21,2007 I read this book several years ago and it is truly Stephen King, the Master of Suspense. The Mist reminds me of a time when I had traveled to New Orleans and I was on my way back home. I was going along the coast when in Gulf Port Mississippi the rain was coming down so hard that you could not see to drive , so we pulled into a Grocery Store and several people before and after us did the same it was some of the hardest rain I had ever seen. People inside were waving everybody to come into the store, and we didn’t know why. They started pointing out to the gulf and we seen why they wanted us inside.

There was a water spout out in the gulf that was at least 150 feet tall and it was headed straight for us. We ran into the store and the manager told everyone to go to the rear of the store. In about 2 minuets that thing came to shore and knocked every glass in front of the store out. People were screaming and going crazy, not to say that we were calm or anything, but some of the people went berserk. The Mist that was lingering after the storm sure did remind me of The Mist by Stephen King. Was the real danger in The Mist or was it inside the Store?

Chasing Trespassers

This evening I had my adrenaline pumping as I got a phone call from a neighbor and he told me that a white car had headed down to the lake, There is a dock at the lake and vandals have set fire to it, kicked the railing off the dock into the lake, thrown a picnic table in the lake and a grill too. They had started dumping trash there too. I was so furious with all this going on that I put up signs every where and put chains and cables across the access road to prevent further destruction. Well they have cut my cables and locks and still continue to destroy.

So Tonight when I got the call I got on my Rhino and went to see who was trespassing and what they were doing. When they saw my lights they got in their car and took off, but I caught them and had them hemmed in and the assholes tried to run me over on the Rhino, I got Pissed. I took off after the little hoodlums and they tried their best to shake me and loose me but the Rhino was more than they could shake. I was on that Chevrolet’s ass the whole way. They may have gotten away at the Main road, but I will bet anything that their front suspension is all out of whack from the rough dirt road they were trespassing on. At the speeds we were traveling on that rough road it has to be out of alignment. Rhino kicks Chevy’s Butt!

Gas Gauge

Well my Rhino did not come with a gas gauge and today I will try the magical feat of installing one myself. I figure 1 of 3 things might happen, 1st, I get it right, 2nd, I get it wrong, 3rd, I screw up my gas tank and have to buy a new one. I sure hope its the 1st one. but I have confidence that I will succeed. The part I dread is drilling a hole in my gas tank to install the sending unit and getting it adjusted right. The instructions are quite complete, but you never know what may go wrong. If all goes right then I won’t have to worry about how much gas I have anymore. If i blow myself up then thats a worry that i won’t have any way.

Wish me luck in this endeavor so that I may get to enjoy the Rhino a little better. I honestly think that thing would climb a telephone pole if it wouldn’t flip over on you. The Little Sherman Tank is on the prowl. Look out nature here I come!

Fighting fire is a very dangerous occupation and it take a special breed of person to do the unforgiving job. Playing the Blues

This is one of my favorite things to do, I love the Blues. The delta blues had a lot of influence on a lot of the Bluesmen of today and yesteryear. Take the Allman Brothers band of Macon Georgia was one of the best at the Blues. They had the delta influence, and the guitar Wizardry of Duwayne Allman, an absolute total package, The Allman Brothers Band were on the fore front of Rock-a- Billy Blues. The bottle neck in fact a Coricidin D cold remedy bottle was the weapon of choice for this slide blues man. He played the Slide guitar with a distinct sound that was second to none.

I can remember going to Piedmont Park in Atlanta Ga, and the Allman Brothers w3ould pull up with a rig and set up on the flat bed trailer and do free concerts for the patrons of the park. This act was done several time in my life, It wasn’t a one time thing. When they came out with their first album it was an instant hit, The local band of the time were busy playing the surf music and when the Allman Brothers hit the air waves it was all over for the surfer boys.

After Duwayne was killed in a motorcycle accident the band grieved for a while and finally Gregg Allman Decided that Duwayne would not want them sitting on their duffs and not playing the blues. They struggled for a while and Dickie Betts took over the lead guitar of the group and they got back in the swing of their music. But they still didn’t have that Allman brothers sound with Duwayne.

The Allman Brothers still tour a little today and Gregg has finally learned to sing the blues, but their time was when Duwayne was alive and laying down tracks with greats like Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Issac Hayes, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and list goes on and on and on. Heres to you Duwayne You are the man!!

November Is Alzheimers Foundation of America Awareness

November 13, 2007 is Alzheimer’s Foundation of America National Memory Screening Day. There will be confidential screenings in your area, if you feel like you do not need this screening you can get it for a future reference to compare now to later in life. But if you have one of these happening to you, you should get screened any way. They are as follows:

I first had an encounter with this dreaded disease of Alzheimer’s when I was a kid of 16 years old. I was helping my neighbor who had a grocery store deliver groceries to the elder people who couldn’t get out getting their groceries. One Saturday morning I made a delivery and the people who lived there told me to put the groceries on the table. As I began to put the groceries on the table a voice said to me, I have been waiting all day for you to come and get me. I turned around to see what was going on and the gentleman told me that she thought I was her son, and not to pay her any attention.

As I was getting ready to leave the lady said to me, I got my coat lets go or we’ll be late. This lady had her coat and was headed for the door with me. When the gentleman told her she couldn’t go with me and turned her around to go back into the other room, I just about cried. I had never seen anything like this before, and it had an impact on me that has been with me all my life since.

My Dogs and the Rhino

My Jack Russell Terriers love to ride in my Rhino. My Oldest one Phoebe, she is the real hunter of the two, when she is in the Rhino, she has that nose out and sniffing everything in the woods. I stopped down by the lake the other day and she got on the scent of something and I had to go find her in the Rhino she had went a pretty good ways trying to find what ever the scent was she had been on.I honestly think that she thinks the Rhino is her way for a shortcut to the woods to hunt and I am just the driver. But I will admit that I get as much enjoyment watching her ride in the Rhino as I do driving it.

Rhino Wins

Well after careful consideration the rhino won my battle of what to buy. It was a toss up between the Rhino and the Kubota. I have already had the Rhino out and put it to the trial, and it was awesome. This thing has the torque that one would expect for a Little Tank, which is what it is like when you get it down to the nitty gritty. A Little Sherman tank is what I will cal it. Any body with any tips please pass them to me as I can always use sound advice.

Apple Brandy

I bought a Half Gallon of Apple Brandy a few weeks back that was homemade from the North Carolina Mountains, and gave it to my best friend, who usually drinks crown and coke. I went to see him about a week later and he had been drinking a little of the Brandy, he liked it so much he wanted me to get him a couple of more jugs of the stuff. So i had to try a sip and dogonit it was the best I had ever had, It was smooth as silk and had no after burn at all. I could not believe that it was that smooth. I have had Brandy that was smooth but would burn in a few seconds after it hit the stomach.I guess next time I will take a sip to see how good it is and I may just have to keep some for myself.
