Mr. Mom

Since my husbands disability that took place in December of 1998, he has become quite the home husband. I came home today and he had prepared dinner for us. He cooked a beef pot roast, butter beans,sweet corn, cole slaw,sliced tomato’s,and dinner rolls. I was quite impressed with the meal, it was delicious. I know that he would rather be out in his garage working on something, but I think he had missed his calling. He has proved to be one heck of a cook. I wonder what’s for dinner tomorrow night?

Dish Network and Me

I have been trying for 3 weeks now to get a technician out to my house to repair my system. At this point I am ready to get the thing taken out. I had secretly purchased a warranty program on the system that was not disclosed to me. I got a charge on my credit card for something I did not what it was, so I called to find out about the purchase and I was told it was a warranty on my satellite system. So I have been trying to get this warranty company to get someone out to look at the system. I then found out that I had to call another company to get an appointment to send a tech out to look and find out what the problem is.

I called the place to set an appointment. I stayed home 3 days later waiting for some one to show. They didn’t show so I called back, and got all kind of apologies and they set me another ppointment for the next week. I ask why some one could not come that day since I already had a appointment the previous day, they replied that it would throw them off on appointments. I told them they were already off schedule. So i gave in and waited till the next week, the tech was supposed to be at my house between 8:00- 1:00 so at 2;00 I called them and asked where the tech was. They said they would find out and let me know.

About an hour later a tech calls me and asked what was going on, i explained the situation and he told me that he did not cover this area and he did not know why they gave him the assignment. so He was going to call the right tech and let me know what was going on and call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

So I call back today and I am told their system is down and they will take my name and call back when they get up and running.Well this is the last straw, If I don’t get a tech out here this time, I will be telling them where to stick their dish!!!

Trying to win the Lottery

Well I did not win a million that I had anticipated in the last go round. So I have been trying the scratch off tickets, my luck seems to be pretty consistent. I can lose at all the games the Ga Lottery offers, much to my Surprise! When are they going to put out games that pay something. Like I said in an earlier post,I think that I am making delayed payment on my daughters education. She did receive HOPE, so now I have to pay back or not play the Lottery.What would you do?

Cas Haley Burns it up Again on Americas got talent!

Cas Haley has blown me away again. His performance tonight was nothing short of great. This guy is so talented that I don’t think he knows his potential to be a Mega Star. Theres a ventriloquist Terry Fator who put on one heck of a show. This guy has to be the absolute best ventriloquist to Ever perform. I still say Cas Haley will win the competition, but we wont know until next week.Go do it Cas Haley

Go Fly a Plane

Literally you can fly a plane. Head into the wind and take off. Well Its almost that easy. I am talking about the RC airplanes, you just need to decide on an electric or a Nitro model. It will be easy to get the plane that best suite you needs. There are planes with tandem controls, in short that means that if you know someone that fly planes, if they have the right remote control, you can connect your remote to theirs and once he gets it flying ,he can switch the control over to you. This helps tremendously in real action. There are also flight simulators that will work specific for your application. It’s better to crash the simulator than your real plane

A Day In The Life

I try to live by the rule to do unto others. But as of lately I have witnessed a whole lot of wrong doing going on. These folks haven’t lived long enough to realize that the bad things you do to others will come back and bite you in the butt. I am just happy that I am not involved in any of these shenanigans. If you do right by people, most people will do right by you. Occasionally someone will try you, and they wind up looking like an ass.

Finishing Sheetrock #2

Well I think it’s about over, the Sheetrock job that I have had going on now for about 3 weeks. The way it looks now is that they will rap it up by tomorrow. Then I can get the addition painted and ready for the final touch ups. What a long strange trip it’s been. I can promise you one think, I was not cut out to be a wallboard finisher.

Soaking in an oatmeal bath

The hot weather we have been having in Georgia has been unbearable. Animals suffer as well in these kind of temperatures. I have 2 Jack Russell Terriers and fleas are really active in this heat. Although my girls are inside dogs they do go out and hunt daily. On of these great girls has sensitive skin, and when she gets flea bit, it bothers her tremendously. Sure I use Frontline Plus, but it works after the flea bites. So I have to soak my girls in an oatmeal bath to relieve the the irritation. She sure don’t like it at first, but after it’s over she does feel better, and full of energy. If you have animals, remember they are living things and have some compassion, and take care of them as they deserve. They will Love you for it.

Car payments again

A car payment is something that I have not had for several years now, until today. It was not a have to basis it was a want to, buy. I spent all week long haggling with the dealer on a Dodge Grand Caravan ES. This thing is loaded to the gill and all the bells and whistles as they say in the car industry. I finally got them within $800.00 of what I was willing to pay and this evening the salesman calls back, and wants me to call him. I didn’t return his call instead I just went to the dealer to see what he wanted. He told me that he had got them to take an additional 100.00 off the van. I told him that was not what my offer was.So he brings out the sales manager and he start talking about all this crap that they can’t sell it for what I am offering. So I got up,shook his hand and told him I appreciated his time and to have a good one. I left and went to my truck and I had all the research on this particular van, I had already ran a car fax report on it and went back in and told the manager Take $500.00more off and I would buy it right now. He thought about what i said and re replied He would sell it at that price if I would buy it now. I told him I would but I had one more proposition for him, I said ,if you will take the other 200.00 off from the price ,I would write him a check for $1000.00 down. He mumbled for a minuet and agreed. I wound up getting 28000.00 off this nice used van and at the price I had offered when I was first interested in it.

Persistence pay off. Never buy a vehicle on the first visit,because it will cost you thousands.

Hot ‘Lanta

Its true, its HOT in Atlanta. The last week we have been playing with temps in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I guess thats how we got the name of Hot Lanta. It has been so hot and humid here that it is at dangerous levels for anyone to be outside doing anything. The elder people are the ones who seem to suffer the most, as many of them are without air conditioning.The children of Atlanta suffer as well.So if you know someone who is young or old and without air conditioning, be a humanitarian, and invite them into your cool home and out of harms way in this severe weather that we are experiencing.

A Friend in need is a Friend indeed

I went today to see and old friend of mine and he had just had surgery on his leg where he had broken it above the knee well it actually splintered instead of breaking.They had to put him back together with a 4″ plate and screws and rods. he is going to be off his feet for 3 months not allowed to put any pressure on it because of the way it broke.

When I walked in his eyes light up and he was so happy to see me. I was glad to see him also, but he was so appreciative of my visiting him he almost cried. It’s amazing how just going to see somebody can lift their spirits and bring a smile to their face. So if you have an old friend in need be a friend indeed.

Is there such a thing as a Honest Lawyer

I understand that the good old USA was built and courage and laws. It’s unfortunate that sometimes you have to acquire the consulting of an attorney. I have only done this a couple of times in my life and neither has been a good experience. I know this is true because I was having lunch one day and a group of attorneys sat behind me. One walked up to the table the others were at and told them:I seen the damnedest thing a minuet ago, I saw a lawyer walking down the sidewalk with his hands in his own pockets. They all just laughed about the joke the attorney had just told. But there was more truth in that statement than most would think.

A attorney will sell your ass out in a minuet flat. This is typically old news to the general population.I know of a case where a person was injured at work and the injury was substantial. the person went all kind of physical therapy and several operations. This person was injured for life and was found to be totally disabled from any type of gainful employment. The state agreed and the person was granted disability benefits after fighting with the govnt. for 3 years. This person has a severe back injury, and all the attorney talked about was getting catastrophic designation.

It came time to apply and get that designation approved and the attorney told the client that if they would settle the case the law firm would waive $5,000.00 off their fee. You would think that the clients best interest would be the priority. Nope not at all. The lawyer had his best interest in mind. Any attorney who acts in this manner should be Barred from practice. Lawyers will argue that they get a bad rap from the public, but they continue to behave in the old I am better than any body way of thinking. if there is a honest lawyer out in this world I would love to know who they are!

Rob Zombies Halloween 2007

Rob Zombie is at it again, from The Devils Rejects to Halloween the movie 2007 watch the trailer and see the master in action
The trailer shows massive potential for bringing the Halloween franchise to a new level. From the White Zombie days and his solo career, Rob has given absolute proof that he is a master of horror. The Halloween of old was at best a B-movie, but now it is given a new face. Looking at House of 1000 corpses and The Devil’s Rejects gives an insight into the new realm of terror. There is a rock n’ roll feel and disturbing story line that the original could have never accomplished. Michael Myers is more human and unfortunately for the public in general more vicious. Baby sitters, beware. The night is dark and also long. Just hiding behind the bushes is not going to do it this time. Michael is going wreak havoc out in the open and bring his insanity to the people. In the old days, the fact that he could drive a car when all the other movie mass murderers, Jason Voorhees for instance, could not, does not cut it this time. There is more brutality and intensity in store for the movie going audience, not to mention the campy references and high octane scenarios. The Soundtrack kicks and especially the metal lovers won’t be disappointed. Halloween the movie fans will be screaming for a sequel. Rob may or may not bless us with it, but we know that whatever comes next will be a bloody dream.

America’s Got Talent #2

I was watching the series America’s Got Talent again tonight and I still say that the very talented Cas Haley. This guy reminds me so much of a close personal friend,whom is just as talented and diverse. They both can play and sing the blues as well as any other type music they choose. Cas will surely win this competition,and like i said before if he don’t someone will pick this man up and he will be recording and touring. Go get um Cas
